Geographic Information Systems is the most rapidly growing application of databases.

Almost every company has some databases, which include all the data necessary for the functioning of that company. The main advantage of GIS orientated databases is their connection to the existing World coordinates – each object in the database is described as its X or Y (or geographic) coordinates. This type of data organization allows estimates and analyses to be conducted in the existing space.
