GIS data base of Eastern and Northern Europe 1 : 1 000 000

In 1998 “Jana Seta Map Publishers” begun to develop detailed GIS data bases on territories of Eastern and Northern Europe. For many of remarkable cartographic and GIS companies Eastern Europe is a problematic region, therefore data and maped situation has lost its topicality.

During several years “Jana Seta Map Publishers” improved Eastern and Northern Europe data bases, developing precise and urgent GIS data sets on accordant territories. It was done using the latest cartographic issues, satellite images and statistics. Data base contains all necessary basic data layers, and also some unique and specific layers. Eastern and Northern Europe data bases hold information on confidential populated places and other unique data, unavailable until now. Geographical names of populated places and other objects are given in the original languages, as well as their alternative names. The structure of data base allows to improve it in accordance with requirements of client by adding new data layers or changing attributive information. Eastern and Northern Europe GIS data bases were used to develop Eastern Europe, Northern Europe and Finland maps.
