GIS data base of World

Pasaules ĢIS datubāzes


In 1995 JS MP started work at data bases of the continents and the world regions. During these years there has been developed comprehensive date base in scale 1: 3 500 00 to 1: 60 000 000. It is updated and supplemented regulary, following the changes in the regions of the world.

Available levels of detalization are:
  • M 1 : 3 500 000;
  • M 1 : 6 000 000;
  • M 1 : 12 000 000 – 15 000 000;
  • M 1 : 30 000 000 – 60 000 000.

    This data base was developed using the recent available cartographic issues, satellite images and statistics. It contains necessary geographical information – populated places, roads, railways, hidrography, administrative division, and some specific layers – as density of population, time zones, etc.
