JS Baltija
The interactive map system JS Baltija is designed for the widest range of users. To work with this system you do not need any special computer equipment. You can use the Latvian, Russian, Lithuanian or English language.
JS Baltija presentation in PowerPoint JS Baltija database includes more than 85 000 different objects: * Latvia (rivers, lakes, islands, hills, protected territories, other natural objects) * Lithuania (protected territories) * Estonia (protected territories) * Latvia (airports, railway stations, bus stations, petrol stations, border crossing points, post offices) * Lithuania (railway stations) * Latvia (local authorities, districts, cities, parishes, apanages) * Lithuania (country’s, districts, elderships) * Estonia (country’s, parishes) The user-friendly search mechanism will allow you to find the necessary objects and the related information within seconds. Maps and database have several extra functions, which will give full value to the software. Identifying the starting point, destination and the intended stops during your trip you can create your route - the shortest and the most comfortable for travelling. The software will give you the time and fuel consumption, average speed and road pavement types. JS Baltija is a complex product that allows you to operate within the real coordinates of space both with objects and also with the representation of the space - the map. The designed geographical information system includes maps and plans of various scales, references and visual information about the objects, the routing possibilities, the development of user object database, as well as the object monitoring function by means of a GPS receiver or another device generating real coordinates. Such an interactive system enables the user to view objects and to solve problems in real time and space. JS Baltija has been developed in four modifications that have identical sets of data and maps, but different functionality.
Modules
1. “Shapefile Exchange” – provides importation of *.shp files into JS Latvija and data exportation as *.shp files for use in other programs. 2. “User Base” – unlimited number of user objects in the database. JS Latvijas Standard and GPS versions have limited user object quantity, accordingly 20 and 50. With “User Base” module it is possible to develop database with almost unlimited amount of user objects. 3. “DB Conjunction” – provides automatic JS Latvija 3 conjunction with other data base programs. 4. “Address Link” – manages automatic conjunction of objects to the map within territory of Riga according to the address and cities of Latvia according to the street name. You can move all objects from a certain database to the database of JS Latvija if the addresses of the objects are stated. 5. “Map Image” – gives a possibility to export a raster map with all objects from the active view to *.bmp or *.jpg file. 6. “Map File” – gives a possibility to save the map displayed on the screen as *.bmp or *.jpg file together with its coordinate registration files (*.jpgw, *.bmpw). Graphical file with coordinate information will enable you to open the map in other graphical information systems (GIS). 7. “Map Export” – for exporting maps to OziExplorerCE. From the area witch you see in your monitor program will save all possible maps in all scales. Limitations – maximal resolution of one map is 2000x2000 pixels, and maximal amount of all pixels saved in one time is 12 000 000 pixels, so you can save more than one map at once. Maps are saved together with coordinate registration files, so you can bond them with GPS and see your exact place of location. Maps

JS Baltija database includes more than 85 000 different objects: geographic objects, settlements, places of interest etc. Many of them are illustrated with textual descriptions, photos, panoramic views. There are also database of Riga addresses and lists of streets on all towns of Latvia, data base of Lithuanian, Estonian and European populated place and other objects included in the program. The user-friendly search mechanism will allow you to find the necessary object and the related information within seconds. Functions
Maps and database have several extra functions, which will give full value to the software. Identifying the starting point, destination and the intended stops during your trip you can create your route - the shortest and the most comfortable for traveling. Creating the route, the software will consider road covering and category all over Baltic's and streets of Riga as well, where traffic signs and other limitations will be considered. The software will give you the time and fuel consumption, average speed and road pavement types. It is possible to store the route. JS Baltija has a special tool to measure distances and determine areas of shapes. Using the global positioning system receiver, JS Baltija will give your exact location on the map all over Europe. Software users can add their own objects to the given data base and work with them the same way as with the standard software objects. Minimum demands for your computer
