The first active tourist map in Latvia, issued by Tyvek®, is made from a highly durable synthetic fiber material. It is waterproof, untearable and does not fade in the sun ensuring the longevity of the map usage.
Active tourism map “Dabas takas” (“Nature trails”) invites travellers to explore nature trails and observation towers all over Latvia. The map allows users to choose the most suitable hiking route based on the trail’s length, difficulty level, coverage and starting coordinates (for viewing towers – coordinates only). Given the natural landscape, infrastructure and accessibility conditions, the authors of the map chose 24 particularly interesting trails and provides more information about each of them with detailed area maps. It should be kept in mind that the nature trail infrastructure and observation towers are mostly built of wood, so it is advised to double-check the condition and accessibility of the sites before going there.
