This map was created using content from the Natural science atlas for grades 1-6, beautifully illustrated by artist Agija Staka-Jansone. Two maps from that atlas – one dedicated to Latvia’s wildlife and the other to animals of the world – are now included in a separate publication: a double-sided laminated A3-format map.
Designed as a vivid visual aid for children of various ages, the map offers an engaging overview of the diversity of the animal kingdom in both Latvia and around the globe. The Latvia-focused side also includes information about the number of species across different animal groups found in the country. Both maps highlight remarkable animal kingdom extremes.
