Aprašymas
Since the previous edition was published, significant changes have taken place in Latvia and around the world.
Compared with the previous edition, the new edition includes a number of important updates and additions. The climate map now uses a different classification of climate zones – the Köppen climate classification. The atlas maps reflect both Latvia’s newly designated cities and the refugee flows resulting from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, along with many other major and minor changes. The population density and ethnic composition maps have been updated and expanded, while the transport map now also includes the Rail Baltica project. Many other maps have been revised and brought up to date, and the reference information on the countries of the world has also been updated.
With over 200 maps and illustrations, the atlas is enriched by a comprehensive reference section with flags of countries and territories, as well as an index of over 12,000 toponymes.
New Universal World atlas is an original work by Latvian cartographers. It is a versatile resource suitable for both demanding map users and students, fully aligned with Latvia’s new education standard and the geography curriculum.
